The Challenge!...

To safely climb the highest mountain within each of NZ's 14 National Parks over a one month period. We will also aim to climb Mitre Peak...  As one of the highest sea cliffs in the world, rising 1695 metres out of the ocean, it presents an irresistable extra challenge.

The Reality

31 days between late December and late January is all we could find between other commitments. A few months centred around the more weather stable month of February would have been optimal. As you know it is not uncommon for the mountaineer to wait out five days of poor weather for that one attempt at the summit. So it is unlikely we will complete all 15 peaks within the time frame. Safety first always. We will do our best and go back for the others next holidays.
